Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon all natural sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- Pinch of ground cloves
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
- 1 chai tea bag
- 1/2 cup ginger ale
- 1 1/2 ounces bourbon, optional
- Ice
- Orange slice, for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.
- Boil 1 cup of hot water and add the chai tea bag. Stir in 1/2 tablespoon of the chai sugar mixture until dissolved. Let the tea cool to lukewarm before removing the tea bag and refrigerating for one hour to chill.
- Rim a glass with an orange slice and dip it in the chai sugar mixture.
- Pour the chilled chai tea over ice in the prepared glass.
- Add the ginger ale and stir gently.
- For an adult version, stir in the bourbon, if desired.
