Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 Mexican cinnamon stick
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 ounce freshly brewed strong coffee, chilled
  • 1 1/2 ounce Chilean pisco
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, water, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature.
  2. Transfer the syrup, including the cinnamon stick and cloves, to a large pitcher. Add the milk, chilled coffee, pisco, and vanilla extract. Stir well to combine.
  3. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate until well chilled, for a few hours or overnight.
  4. Pour about 1/2 cup of the Chilean Christmas Punch into small tumbler glasses and serve very cold, accompanied by Christmas cookies or Chilean-style fruitcake.
