Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon + 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 8-10 fresh mint leaves
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed from 1-2 limes)
- 1/4 cup rum (such as Flor de Cana)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, water, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Bring to a boil, then let it simmer for 10 minutes until the sugar dissolves.
- In a measuring cup, muddle mint leaves with 2 teaspoons sugar until leaves are bruised and sugar is dissolved.
- Strain the cranberry syrup into a pitcher, reserving 2 tablespoons of cranberries for garnishing.
- Add lime juice, rum, and muddled mint to the pitcher. Stir until well combined.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer, pressing gently to extract all the flavors.
- Pour the cocktail into a glass filled with ice cubes and garnish with fresh mint leaves and reserved cranberries.
