A luxurious twist on the original Mudslide cocktail with a blend of cognac, aged rum, and coffee-infused sweet vermouth, creating a velvety, indulgent adult milkshake.
Ingredients
- 4 oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth
- 20 whole coffee beans
- 1 oz Cognac VSOP
- 1/2 oz aged rum (such as Ron Zacapa 23 Year)
- 3/4 oz coffee-infused Carpano Antica sweet vermouth
- 1/2 oz Creme de Cacao
- 1/2 oz heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 tsp demerara sugar
- 1 very fresh egg
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Place coffee beans in a glass jar and pour Carpano Antica over the beans. Seal the jar and let it infuse at room temperature for 30 minutes. Taste and infuse for up to 5 1/2 hours more if a stronger flavor is desired, checking periodically.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine cognac, aged rum, 3/4 oz of coffee-infused Carpano Antica sweet vermouth, creme de cacao, cream, sugar, bitters, and egg. Dry shake (without ice) for 15 seconds to emulsify.
- Add ice to the cocktail shaker and shake for 15 seconds until well chilled.
- Strain the mixture into an ice-filled highball glass. Optionally, garnish with chocolate shavings.
