Ingredients
- 3/4 cup water
- 3 oz cream soda
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon butterscotch syrup
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup spiced rum
- Whipped cream
- Gold sanding sugar
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, combine water, cream soda, brown sugar, butter, 1 tablespoon of butterscotch syrup, cinnamon stick, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
- Cover and cook on low for 3 to 3 1/2 hours, until the mixture is warm and the butter is melted.
- Remove the lid and stir in the spiced rum.
- Pour the remaining butterscotch syrup onto a shallow plate.
- Dip the rim of a mug in the syrup before filling it with the butterbeer mixture.
- Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with gold sanding sugar.
