- 1 tsp turbinado sugar
- 2-3 dashes bitters
- 1/4 cup hot water
- Ice
Instructions
- Melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until it turns brown and nutty, about 5 minutes.
- Pour the bourbon into a freezer-safe, resealable plastic container.
- Immediately whisk the browned butter into the bourbon and cover.
- Freeze the mixture until the butter solidifies on top, for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Remove the solidified butter from the bourbon and strain the buttered bourbon through a fine-mesh strainer.
- Dissolve the turbinado sugar in hot water to create a sugar syrup.
- Combine the bourbon, sugar syrup, and bitters in a glass, over ice.
- Stir well and strain into a cocktail glass.
