Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole allspice berries
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon ginger liqueur (such as Domaine de Canton(r))

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, combine apple cider and maple syrup.
  2. Add the cinnamon stick, allspice berries, and star anise.
  3. Cover and bring the mixture to a simmer over low heat, then continue to gently simmer for 30 minutes.
  4. Stir in the bourbon and ginger liqueur.
  5. Pour the cocktail into a heatproof glass to serve.
  6. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired.
