Ingredients
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/4 large granny smith apple, cored and thinly sliced
- 1/4 small orange, sliced into 1/4-inch thick slices
- 1 whole clove
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- a pinch of ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 tsp dark brown sugar or turbinado sugar
- 1 oz bourbon
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the apple cider, apple slices, orange slices, clove, cinnamon stick, and nutmeg. Simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes.
- Strain the cider into a heat-safe pitcher.
- Spread the sugar on a plate. Run an orange slice around the rim of a serving glass and dip the glass in the sugar to create a sugar rim.
- Pour the bourbon into the glass.
- Pour the hot cider into the glass.
- Drop a clove and half a cinnamon stick into the glass.
- Add an apple slice and orange slice to the glass, if desired.
- Serve while hot.
